Ministry of Child and Youth Services (MCYS) Autism Announcement – March 29, 2016
On March 29, 2016 the Ontario Ministry of Child and Youth Service announced a change to the way autism services will be organized and accessed across the province. The change includes an expanded and integrated Ontario Autism Program to be implemented within two years, and a $333 million investment over five years.
These changes will have an impact on patients and families who access Autism Services at McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH). While we are still learning more about how these provincial changes will affect services at MCH, our staff will work with our families and our regional partners to ensure that all children receive appropriate care.
If your child is currently enrolled in or is on a wait list to access Autism Services at MCH, you will receive more information in the coming week and on-going as we learn more.
