HHS Chief Innovation Officer receives special distinction from Mohawk College
Dear colleagues and members of our community,
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Ted Scott, Chief Innovation Officer and Director of Strategy at HHS on achieving the special distinction of Distinguished Fellow, Adjunct Professor for 2016 at Mohawk College.
Mohawk’s Distinguished Fellows make invaluable contributions to the college through academic advisement and student engagement, community outreach and strategic advisement to Mohawk’s senior leadership team. The distinction is conferred during Convocation by virtue of hooding.
This accomplishment recognizes Ted’s previous leadership role in Mohawk’s rise through the rankings of Canada’s top colleges for applied research.
As the former Chief Innovation Officer and Dean of Applied Research at Mohawk, Ted helped to create a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty working in Mohawk’s research centres. He enabled the translation of government funded research, commercialization and technology transfer programs into industry driven projects engaging expert faculty, students and staff. With funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), FedDev Ontario, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and Ontario Research Fund (ORF), Ted helped to establish the Mohawk eHealth Development and Innovation Centre (MEDIC) and more recently the Mohawk Energy Research Centre.
Ted is truly deserving of this award and we are fortunate to now have him on our team.
