Juravinskis honoured with bronze relief

Two years ago, Hamilton Health Sciences President and Chief Executive Officer, Murray Martin visited Hamilton sculptor, Gino Cavicchioli with a tall order -- to create a piece of art to commemorate the monumental $43 million donation made by Margaret and Charles Juravinski in support of health care in Hamilton.
On November 12, 2008, Margaret and Charles Juravinski unveiled the bronze relief in its temporary home -- the Juravinski Cancer Centre. When redevelopment of the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre is complete in 2012, the sculpture will be relocated to the hospital's new front lobby where it will be built into a wall by the information desk.
"We thought it fitting to create something very special to adorn the lobby of the brand new hospital - something that will stand the test of time and remind future generations of the phenomenal generosity of these two people who came from very humble beginnings," said Murray Martin, President and CEO, Hamilton Health Sciences.
