Organizing for Quality


  • The purpose of the Clinical Resource Utilization Management Steering Committee (CRUM) is to monitor, review, evaluate and make recommendations to improve the use of clinical resources across that best meet the needs of patients at all HHS hospitals, including the Juravinski Cancer Centre, within the context of the LHIN and the broader health system.

Quality of Care and Patient Safety Steering Team

  • The Quality of Care and Patient Safety Steering Team (QPSST) is responsible for monitoring the quality of patient care and service delivery at Hamilton Health Sciences.  Its purpose is to recommend quality of care and patient safety goals, outcomes and strategies to achieve them.   The committee will report to the Executive Council any policies, plans and decisions, to maintain and improve the quality of care within HHS. The HHS Quality Framework and Patient Safety Model will guide the work of the QPSST.

Quality Councils at Program and Unit Levels:

  • Monitor quality indicators at program level
  • Identify opportunities to improve and develop program quality improvement plans 
  • Quality councils are supported by Patient Safety Specialists, Quality Specialists, Decision Support, Human Resources, Patient Relations/Risk Management
