Cardiac Health and Rehabilitation Clinic (CHRC)

The Cardiac Health and Rehabilitation Centre is an outpatient rehabilitation program for those recovering from cardiac events.  These events may include cardiac surgery, angioplasty or myocardial infarction.  The Centre also accepts referrals for those with multiple risk factors who may be at high risk for a cardiac event.
The rehabilitation team includes professionals from nursing, kinesiology, nutrition and social work.

Programs offered are designed to help patients recover from their cardiac event while reducing their risk for future heart problems.

Programs  include:

  • Nutrition Counseling and Nutrition Education Classes
  • Exercise Counseling and Supervised Exercise Classes
  • Group Stress Management Classes
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Cardiac Health Teaching

Physician Consultation

A physician referral is required to be seen at the Centre.

Medical management of risk factors, examples include high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.
