Mark Rizzo, Chair
Mark Rizzo is a Vice President, Investment Advisor with CIBC World Markets Inc. in Hamilton. Mark provides investment advisory services to both institutional and private clients. Mark has worked with many organizations in establising sound investment Principles that allow his clients to meet their investment objectives. Previously, Mark served as a member of numerous charitable boards such as the YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington. He currently is a board member of the Hamilton Club and the Art Gallery of Hamilton and is a past Chair of St. Peter's Health System, St Peters Long Term Care Centre and the Royal Botanical Gardens.  

 

 

 

 
Stacey Allerton
Stacey Allerton is the Vice President of Human Resources for Ford of Canada. In this role, Stacey has responsiblilty for all aspects of human resources and labour relations for Ford's 8,000 employees across Canada. A 2006-2009 winner of WXN's Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100, Stacey is an active community volunteer and mentor for women in business.  She currently serves as member of the Board of Directors for Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd, is an Advisory Council member for the Ryerson Centre for Labour Management Relations, and is a member of the Minister of Labour's Labour Management Advisory Committee.  She holds a Master's Degree in Industrial Relations and a Bachelor of Business Degree from Michigan State University.

 

   

Dr. Frank Baillie

President, Medical Staff Association
Dr. Baille is a member of Hamilton Health Sciences' Department of Surgery and Director of the Trauma Program. He is an Associate Clinical Professor and Associate Chair (Administration), Department of Surgery, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University. He recently was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Hamilton Academy of Medicine and is a past Cornerstone Award recipient.

 

Bruce Barch
The majority of Bruce's career has been with RBC Royal Bank where he was most recently Vice President, Contact Centres. His successes have centred on improving customer satisfaction to world-class levels, testing and introducing new company-wide processes, and significantly enhancing productivity, resulting in savings of hundreds of millions of dollars. More recently he has been Vice President, Investor & Corporate Affairs for Alexis Minerals Corporation, a Canadian-based junior gold mining company.

       

 

Chantel Broten
Chantel is the Vice President/Chief Strategy Officer at JAN Kelley Marketing, an award-winning marketing communications firm in Burlington. She is a gifted brand strategist with over 15 years of experience in developing integrated, multi-channel communication programs that drive results. She has spearheaded brand-building campaigns for clients such as GO Transit, Genuine Health, Sobeys/Compliments, Canadian Blood Services, Heart and Stroke Foundation - to name a few. Chantel has an MBA in Marketing and Innovation from McMaster University and  a B.Sc in Human Kinetics from University of Guelph. Chantel is an active community volunteer and is a former director for Big Brothers and Big Sisters Hamilton and Burlington.

 

Paul Chapin, Vice Chair
Paul is President and CEO of Goodwill, The Amity Group, a local not for profit which, as part of an international organization, is dedicated to using the social enterprise model to help individuals with barriers to employment find work. Paul is the past Chair of the Board of Goodwill Industries International, which last year had revenues in excess of $4.4 billion and employed over 105,000 people in North America. Prior to joining Goodwill in 1999, Paul had an extensive career as the President and CEO of several hospitals across Canada. He was active professionally during this period, having been Chair of the B.C. Health Association; President of the Health Administrators Association of B.C.; and Chair of many industry committees. In the community, Paul has been active as the Board Chair of St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke, and Chair of the Board for the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton. He was an active Rotarian, for 27 years, serving as the President of three Rotary Clubs and as Assistant Governor at the District level.

 

 

Norm Col, Secretary/Treasurer 
Norm is a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte & Touche specializing in tax compliance and planning for several international corporations. He is currently serving on the Board of the Financial Executive Institute (FEI), South Western Ontario Chapter. Norm's past community involvement includes the Burlington Performing Arts Centre Capital Fundraising Committee, Burlington Chamber Business Excellence Awards Selection Committee and, a Board of Directors member for the Hamilton Jr. Bullldogs Hockey Association. He is also a member with the Canadian Tax Foundation as well as the Financial Executive Institute.

                         

                 
Glenn Gibson 
Glenn is the Global Chief Strategy Officer for Crawford & Company, the largest claims administration company in the world with over 11,000 employees and plus $1 billion in revenue. Glenn has been in this role for four years after serving as CEO of Crawford's Canadian operation and then CEO of the Americas. Glenn is on the Global Executive Management Team where he directs the development and execution of strategic plans in the 61 countries which Crawford operates. He has served on many boards including service as board chair for the Insurance Institute of Canada, Origin & Cause Inc., Crawford (Canada) Inc., and The International Association of Arson Investigators (Ont.). His volunteerism extends into many circles where he's delivered over 350 presentations globally and published over 250 technical articles relevant to police, fire and insurance services. 

 

                           
Anita Isaac
Anita is a retired health professional with over 30 years hospital management experience. A 2001 winner of the John C. Holland award for Professional Achievement she has been actively involved as a community volunteer for many years. Her community service includes: past member of the Hamilton/Wentworth District Health Council, Board member of The Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, a Big Sister for over 20 years and is a past Board member of the Ancaster Seniors Centre and the Diverse Community Achievement Centre. Anita is currently Chair of the Official Board for Steward Memorial Church. President of the Zonta Club of Hamilton 1 and a member of the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion Health Task Force.

  

  

 

 
Julia Kamula
Julia Kamula is the Execuitve Vice President Operations, Central Canada for Sun Media Corporation. Julia oversees in excess of 100 daily and community newpapers operations, magazines and online properties in Ontario. Previous to this, she has also held posts as Senior Vice President of Operations for Osprey media LP and Publisher of the St. Catharines Standard and Niagara Publishing Group. Julia has been active on a number of industry-related and community focused boards and associations most recently as a Brock University board trustee, chairing the Capital Projects and Facilities Committee. Julia also sits on the Board at Niagara College.

  

 

 

 

Kirsten Krull
Kirsten Krull is the Vice President of Professional Affairs and Chief Nursing Executive. Kirsten has had a long and distinguished career as a nursing leader. Prior to Hamilton Health Sciences, Kirsten's other positions have included Interim Vice President Patient Services for Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital, Windsor, Integrated Vice President, Surgery Services for London Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Health Care in London, Vice President, Patient Program & Chief Nursing Officer at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie; Operations Director, Medical Programs at Humber River Regional Hospital in Toronto; Program Director at York Finch Hospital in Toronto; and organization development and clinical director roles at West Park Hospital in Toronto.

Kirsten earned a Bachelor degree in Nursing at Ryerson, a Master of Health Sciences degree at McMaster University, and she has finished the required course work towards a Doctoral Degree in Adult Education through the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Kirsten is a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders. She also completed a Canadian Health Services Research Foundation fellowship in 2006 focused on the use of evidence to improve quality and outcomes of care.

 

 

 

Dr. John G. Kelton

Dr. John Kelton is a Hematologist, an award-winning researcher and Dean and Vice-President of the Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University, as well as the Dean of its Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. Trained at the University of Western Ontario and Duke University, Dr. Kelton joined McMaster in 1977. The focus of his personal research for more than 30 years has been the study of blood platelets. His work has been recognized with many awards, including induction as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and an honourary doctorate of science from the University of Waterloo.

 

 

 

 

Mary Catherine Lindberg
Mary Catherine is a pharmacist and senior management professional with a background in management of major health operations, programs and support services. She has served as the Executive Director of the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario and worked in the Ontario Ministry of Health holding a number of positions including Assistant Deputy Minister, Health Insurance and Related Programs. Ms. Lindberg's volunteer experience includes membership on the Patent Medicines Prices Review Board, Green Sheild of Canada, Centennial College and the Cardiac Care Network.

 

Murray T. Martin

President and CEO for Hamilton Health Sciences
Murray Martin recently served as Chair of an Ontario Hospital Association Committee that advised on the creation of a Wait Time Strategy for Ontario and is a past Chair of the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario. He was also a member of the federal Ministry of Health steering committee that created the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), a federal agency responsible for funding health research in Canada. Murray is a member of the Board of the Ontario Hospital Association and Accreditation Canada.   

 

 

Dr. Stephen Puchalski

Chair, Medical Advisory Committee
Dr. Puchalski is a member of the Hamilton Health Sciences Department of Anesthesiology and an Associate Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at McMaster University. He received his Medical Degree and Post Graduate training at McMaster University. He has been active in Medical Education, where he has been the Residency Program Director for the McMaster Anesthesia Program during which time he received the Canadian Anesthesiologist's Society Clinical Teaching Award. He is an active Cardiac Anesthesiologist with a special interest in intra-operative echocardiography.

 

Mr. Charles Criminisi

Charles is a partner at Agro Zaffiro LLP specializing in commercial litigation, construction lien, municipal law, real estate, wills and contracts.  He has also acted as a prosecutor for the Department of Justice dealing with Income Tax and other related matters and has also been an instructor at Mohawk College teaching real estate law.  Charles’ community service includes serving as incoming Chair of the Art Gallery of Hamilton, past chair and founding member of the Burlington Community Foundation, past chair of Villa Italia, National President of the Order of the Sons of Italy and a board member of the Sons of Italy (Hamilton) charitable and housing corporations.  He is a member of the Hamilton Law Society, Hamilton Construction Association and the Knights of Columbus.  Charles is nominated for a three year term.   

Mr. Richard Koroscil

Richard Koroscil has just retired as President and Chief Executive Officer for the John C Munro Hamilton International Airport (Canada). His distinguished career in Airport Management spans over 36 years in both the public and private sectors throughout Canada and internationally.  His career portfolio includes Vice President of Operations for Vancouver Airport Services and Vice President for its parent company, the Vancouver International Airport Authority. 
Richard sits on the boards of Metrolinx, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, McMaster Institute of Transportation and Logistics, Theatre Aquarius and is the past President of SKAL International Hamilton. He is the founding Chairman of Southern Ontario Gateway Council and the newly launched TransHub Ontario. He was the 2010 Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Chair and is an active member of the Jobs Prosperity Collective, the Mayors Advisory Committee on Economic Development and a member of the Community Advisory Committee for proposed Airport Employment Growth District.  Richard is nominated for a three year term. 

Dr. Terry Shields

Dr. Shields is a faculty member of the Leadership and Management Program, School of Nursing, McMaster University.  Her career as a nurse educator, administrator, and community development consultant includes international teaching experience in business and management.  Her work with government, public-sector, social service, health, and community organizations concentrates on issues of governance, organizational development, and policy.  Terry has twenty years of nonprofit and public sector board governance experience.  She holds a PhD in Policy and Administration.  Her research focuses on the governance of public serving organizations and the development of professional leadership capacity.
