Fire at Mark Preece Family House

Fire at Mark Preece Family House
Hamilton, Ontario, December 4, 2008 - The Board of Directors of the Mark Preece Family House (MPFH) is deeply saddened by the news of this morning’s fire at the Family House on Barton St. in Hamilton.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the Office of the Fire Marshall is investigating.
The Board remains dedicated to realizing the dream of seeing the Mark Preece Family House built and open. The dream is not destroyed, but only delayed.
The Board is taking every step available to co-operate with the investigation and would like to thank the donors, patrons and supporters of the MPFH for their past generosity and seeks their ongoing support through this difficult time.
The MPFH will serve as a “home away from home” for family member of hospitalized patients in Hamilton. It will provide affordable, accessible and safe accommodation in a compassionate and supportive environment close to the Hamilton General Hospital.
